I must say I'm utterly impressed with China.
The lights & choreography were oh-so-dazzling.
All in all, the opening ceremoney was resplendent.

And best of all, they began the games with their very own gymnast, Li Ning who won 3 golds in 1984.

For people who don't know me; I'm born in 1984 and I used to be a gymnast. I miss gymnastics. Started training when I was 13 and I only stopped training 4 years ago. Sigh. Wonder if my coach is still training the other girls at Chinese High. Maybe someday I'll just drop by to see if I can do all the flips and jumps again.
